DAY 1:

After a good nights sleep and and alarm to wake us up, we had some breakfast with the Faders.  We then headed to the Nairobi Giraffe Center.  You can see that you can get up and close with the giraffes. 

We then started to make the 3 1/2 hour trek to Tenwek.  We had a roller coaster of emotions during the ride. The views of the Rift Valley were amazing.  We were able to see herds of zebras and wild baboons along the road.  The driving here is unreal.  Really no rules..that's all I'll say.  We rode through many small towns along the way... it's hard to describe what we saw.  Extreme poverty, small houses/huts, large masses of people at open markets, and looks on the faces of the kids as you road past broke your heart.

We finally arrived at Tenwek around 6 o'clock, right before sunset.  We had some supper with the Faders and got settled into our apartment.
